Default National 4G Satellite Coverage

Xplornet has updated their coverage map:

Looks like I will be switching back to Satellite shortly.

My condolences.

Our local Xplornet dealer tried to convince me that the new satellite (ViaSat) is a lot better than the old one (Anik F2). That may be...but I remain skeptical. I'll keep that as Plan D, in case Rogers and Bell don't work out.

We seem to be in the area where ViaSat 1 and EchoStar 17 overlap. Have you heard anything regarding the performance of one vs. the other?

Over at dslreports.com there is a guy who has been keeping a very detailed review (and updating it as time goes)

It apparently is working as well as one might expect Satellite to work.

I will keep a similar review once I switch over on Huges echostar XVII. I plan to purchase the 3Mpbs or 5Mpbs business package to replace my terrestrial wireless 1.5mpbs setup I have today. (From Xplornet on their 3.5ghz gear)
