Default rocket hub: moffat nassagaweya

My contract with xplornet is just about done. I am seriously unhappy with the service --my question is: is anyone in the Nassagaweya area (First line, second line North of 20 side road) using the hub and if so what do you think? What sort of speeds do you get. Does it even work?

Any feedback would be most appreciated.

Read the small print on these units as to their return policy. I think it's still 15 days. If you can, purchase the unit outright and go no contract. Use http://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/cancellsites.html to determine your tower location. If you get this unit and are getting low signal 1 to 2 bars you may have to purchase an antenna to boost the signal. I have this unit and have an antenna. My signal is 4 - 5 bars consistnently and the tower is 5 miles away. When I first got online I must have been the only one using it as my speeds were very good. Over time the tower got more use and I'm lucky to see speeds of 3000 down and 1000 up currently. Here is a forum I posted when I had a sudden loss of speeds. There never was a fix and so I still believe the problem is overloading the tower. http://communityforums.rogers.com/t5...d-id/89/page/1

Thanks ret. I read the thread at the other site-interesting. I had looked for the closet tower using that site and it is about 10 miles away. We have reasonable cellphone service with Rogers even though we are in a heavily treed location. Is this an indication that the rocket hub will get a good signal?

Yes. If your phone is getting a signal so will the hub. You won't really know until you try.
